In 1777, a confectioner named Hacı Bekir opened a small shop in Istanbul’s Bahçekapı district. His soft, fragrant lokum soon became the talk of the city, then a favorite of the Ottoman court, and eventually a treat travelers carried home across Europe.
Our Turkish delight follows that tradition. Each piece is slow-cooked from sugar and starch until it’s tender and chewy, then flavored with rose water, citrus, or studded with whole pistachios and hazelnuts. A light dusting of powdered sugar finishes every cube.
